Church School Partner
The Church School Partnership is part of the Missouri United Methodist Conference's Mission Justice team "Pathway Out of Poverty initiative". This partnership is not a transaction but rather a relationship where we do activties with the school and not for the school. There are many possibilities for partnerships that build relationships between the school community and our congregation. Our major activties are related to the needs of the schools. Our objectives for 2022 are to assist in increasing the reading level of the students, to show appreciation to the staff, pray for the teacher and the students, and provide school supplies and books.
God calls us to be in ministry with children, and every United Methodist church in Missouri is urged to develop a relationship with at least one school in its community.
New Horizons has forged a partnership with two community schools:
- Biome Charter School of St. Louis that offers customized student-centered learning opportunities to students from k-5 grade.
- Pamoja Preparatory Academy@ Cole Elementary (K-8) is one of 16 St. Louis Public Schools named in honor of African or Black people. It is the only African-centered school in the St. Louis Public School System.
